Golden Paws Program

Rediscover the joys of having a dog!

Our Golden Paws for Golden Years adoption program is all about rediscovering the joys of having a dog in your life. Over the years, companion animals have brought joy to our lives and warmth to our homes. Our “Golden Paws for Golden Years” program places adult dogs (7 years of age or older) with qualified senior citizens who are 60 years of age or older. This program includes a $50 discount on adoption fees.

Research has shown that companion animals help our physical health by decreasing heart rate and lowering blood pressure. Companion animals have also been shown to improve our overall mental health.

The Boston you adopt from us comes with the following:

  • Neuter/spay

  • Dental Cleaning (if needed)

  • Microchip

  • Up-to-date vaccines (including Rabies/DHPP vaccinations)

  • Harness

  • Boston Terrier informational materials

Making New Memories

Remember the family dog that greeted you as a child?  When you adopt an adult dog, you get to experience these joys again while making new memories with your furry companion.

We always want to make sure that our Bostons and their humans are a good fit, so we offer a two-week trial period before cashing the check for your adoption fee and filing your new dog’s micropchip number for you. Additionally, we will reach out to with an adoption follow-up call to answer any questions you may have and ensure everything is going well for you and your new companion. Who knows? You may end up being our success story published in our monthly newsletter.

We are also available by phone or email at any time to help you with any questions you may have.

If the unfortunate happens and you become unable to take care of your dog, we always welcome our adoptees back.

People Helping Animals, and Animals Helping People

Why shouldn’t people and dogs live out their golden years together? Many mature Bostons still have plenty of gusto for a walk but also appreciate a lap or a pair of feet to lie on. For senior citizens, dogs are a great excuse to get up and out in the morning and meet new people.

Adult animals become depressed when they are displaced, causing them to end up in shelters and rescues. They are often already trained and just looking for someone to love Being adopted by a mature person who understands their calm nature and need for companionship is a perfect match for these senior dogs.
