Meet Franklin a 13 year old that was picked up as a stray and never claimed. Due to the tumor on his bottom eye lid he was turned over to MABTR in September 2024.
Due to his condition he was transported from MN to NE as we had a vet in Omaha, NE that would be able to perform the surgery he needed at a reasonable price.
Franklin had some vision in the eye so we made the effort to treat it. As you can see in the photo he an ulcer, puncture in that eye. He was with a third eye lid flap for three weeks. A second surgery was performed to remove the stretched skin of the eye lid which was more for cosmic purposes.
We were able to save the eye and heal the ulcer but he does have dry eye which will require daily drops for the rest of his life. Franklin is a happy old man. He loves his people.
MABTR's total medical bill for Franklin came to $1200 (which includes a discount). His MABTR adoption fee was $150 which is based on age, not our investment in medical care.
