MABTR Family - Emily in NE

Emily, Rob and Sophie of Lincoln, NE have been volunteering with MABTR for 14 years now.

We got involved with rescue after we adopted our Frenchton from MABTR. We wondered if our dog would like a playmate, and so we began fostering regularly.

The greatest challenge with fostering is taking in the breeder dogs who are scared and helping with their transition to becoming a companion dog. It takes lots of time and patience. However fostering is a rewarding experience where you can watch as a dog comes out of its shell. The best is seeing the first booty wiggle when a dog is excited to see me!

Anyone considering volunteering should try it! In addition to fostering or dog sitting, there is transporting of dogs, perhaps you have talent that you can offer to assist with events or fundraising opportunities, social media and more!
